Kerner Commission Report
It has been 50 years since the release of the Kerner Commission Report on civil unrest. The report basically cited institutional racism as a cause of urban unrest. Many of the problems remain today. They include:
1. Racial segregation
2. High levels of incarceration
3. Injustice on the part of police.
4. Inadequate educational system.
5. Poor healthcare
