Joe Morgan

I am greatly saddened to hear of the death of Joe Morgan, one of the greatest ballplayers of all time. I lived in Ohio during his glory years with the Reds and loved watching him play. He was a very smart player who combined great defense, speed, and power. He could steal a base or hit a home run. I also greatly enjoyed his work as an announcer. His work with Jon Miller was fantastic. Joe could take baseball overly seriously and Jon countered that with a great sense of humor. Baseball has lost some great players recently, Bob Gibson and Lou Brock in addition to Joe Morgan. Written by Paul Dribin
